As we mark our 100th year, it’s important that we recognise the enduring relationship that regional Australia has with the Royal Australian Air Force.
As a truly national organisation, our service has forged linkages in times of war and peace with towns and districts across our vast continent that endure to this day. Without the support of regional Australia in particular, we would not be able to continue to provide responsive military options for the defence of Australia and her interests.
As part of our Centenary, the Air Force Connect program will recognise these relationships with an integrated program of virtual, digital and face-to-face components.
This program will tell the story of our people and our capabilities, demonstrate the diversity of backgrounds and varied skills required in our modern Air Force, and recognise the important contributions the regions have made to our organisation historically, today, and well into the future.
Air Force Connect has been designed to allow Air Force personnel to take part and connect with communities across Australia, whether virtually or face-to-face as restrictions allow.
A virtual first approach to Air Force Connect is considered essential in order to deliver a successful program that best mitigates the risks imposed by a fluid COVID-19 environment.
We are working with local and state authorities to deliver a program that maximises the potential for communities to participate in our Centenary while remaining safe for all participants.
Keep watching this space to keep up to date with the latest developments and announcements about Air Force Connect and how you can get involved, wherever you are in Australia.
