SA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Commemorative Service marks Air Force Centenary

For the 2021 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Commemorative Service, RAAF Base Edinburgh partnered with the organisers in having an Air Force Centenary theme. 

RAAF Base Edinburgh Indigenous Liaison Officer worked with the Reconciliation SA organising Committee in ensuring Air Force was able to have a central role in the ceremony, which was held on 28 May 2021, including the keynote address using the Air Force 2021 theme of Then. Now. Always.

Two Air Force banners were developed specifically for Reconciliation Week profiling Indigenous aviators that served in World War II and current Air Force Indigenous initiatives. 

Air Force was seen to be a leader in the Indigenous Community and enhanced Air Force's reputation in the Indigenous community.
