An alternative date will be determined once restrictions ease.
RAAF Base Richmond will host a History Symposium for the Air Force Centenary. The Symposium will include a five-hour Walking Tour of the base on 30 June 2021, recounting and the base’s history and contribution to aviation in Australia since 1912.
Update: The Walking Tour has now reached capacity and reservations are now closed.
The Walking Tour will be conducted from 12pm until 5pm, and will cover approximately four kilometres. Refreshments will be available for purchase during the tour. On 1 July 2021, a Conference in the Officers Mess will feature presentations recounting the eras and milestones associated with RAAF Base Richmond.
The latter event will include a book launch for ‘Malayan Emergency and Indonesian Confrontation, 1950-1966’ by Air Commodore Mark Lax.
The Conference will be conducted from 8am until 5pm. Lunch will be available for purchase during the Conference for $14, with complimentary morning and afternoon tea made available.
Guest attendance for these events is strictly capped, and it is recommended for those with a historical interest in RAAF Base Richmond and RAAF air mobility.
